PhD Candidate
Alex has a background in microbiology, metabolomics, and host-microbiome interactions. Her past research mostly focused on the microbiota-gut-brain axis. In her PhD, Alex is investigating IgA-bacteria interactions in the human gut in the context of host evolution.
Beyond microbiome research, Alex also has a strong academic interest in science communication, science history, and anthropology. In her free time, she enjoys reading, traveling, cooking, and practicing her beginner-level German skills.
