This project focuses on characterizing the serum antibody repertoire in individuals with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) against a wider set of antigens potentially associated with autoimmune diseases. The project harnesses the power of phage-display techniques, robotics, and next-generation sequencing (NGS) to identify antigens bound by the sera of large cohorts of individuals with and without IBD.
Experimental & Computational Strategy
Subsequently, different statistical analyses and machine-learning techniques are utilized to antigens driving or causing the disease. Different experiments are conducted afterward to investigate the potential pathological involvement of candidates identified by our PhIP-Seq-based screening approach.
Consortium: The project is part of EU consortium miGut Health at the DarkMatter-NCD.
